Meyers
There’s some debate as to whether Meyers is considered a separate town or part of South Lake Tahoe, but no matter what side you’re on, one thing is clear – Meyers is a growing community! Once you come down Echo Summit and enter the Lake Tahoe Basin, you’re in Meyers. Now don’t be fooled by the distance on your GPS – Meyers is only 4.2 miles from the “Y” (the intersection of Lake Tahoe Blvd and Highway 50) in South Lake Tahoe.
There are about 475 homes in this community, and the average lot size is 6000 square feet. The types of homes here include classics like A-frames as well as newer ranchers and mini-mansions. Views from these properties include forests, rivers, mountain ridgelines, and golf courses. In Meyers, you can also find an abundance of outdoor recreational activities such as golfing, biking, and hiking; plus snowmobiling and snowshoeing in the wintertime. Tahoe Paradise Park is one of the many gems that Meyers has to offer. At Tahoe Paradise Park, you can spend your days basking in the sun by Lake Baron while your family enjoys fishing and playing in the water. The park also provides access to tennis courts, a playground, and the Truckee river.
The Environmental Science Magnet School is a popular choice for parents looking for an elementary school with a focus on environmental sciences. Meyers also has many other great things to offer, such as a local grocery store, restaurants, and bars that host live music several nights per week. For those who prefer a more laid-back lifestyle, Meyers is the perfect town because it offers all of the benefits of South Lake Tahoe without the hustle and bustle.
